The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the year 2012 and is now recognized as one of the leading departments with infrastructure and facilities to match the very best in the country. The department remains committed towards its mission, which is twofold. One is to provide students with the fundamental knowledge and problem-solving skills in Computer Science required for a fulfilling career. The other goal is to create and disseminate knowledge to improve Computer Science research, education and practice. The department is an indispensable part of Saharsa College Of Engineering. The department provides students enough opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge by organizing various workshops in latest technologies and guest lectures by inviting faculties from reputed institutions such as IITs, NITs and others.The department laboratory is equipped with latest computers with Intel i5 processor, 1TB Hard disk, 4 GB RAM and 23-inch monitors for comfortable view for students.

The Department has made available several facilities in the Institute such as Internet Connectivity, Wi-Fi facility in the whole campus, 24 X 7 surveillance of entire Campus and Admin sections of Engineering Campus.The Department has set up various platforms for students to master the cutting edge technologies. The laboratories are equipped with software such as C/C++ compilers, Java Run Time Environment, Python, Oracle 11g, MATLAB, Cisco Packet Tracer, PHP with Mysql, Microsoft Office, Quick Heal Antivirus, Ubuntu 13.10, Fedora 19 etc. The students are engaged in developing projects as a compulsory part of the curriculum.
